Description | Two scrolls combined into a single flexible item |
This patch replaces the "enchant weapon" and "enchant armor" scrolls with the scroll of enchantment.
* A scroll of enchantment has a base price of 80 zorkmids, and requires 16 magic marker charges to write. * You now increase the enchantment of stat-increasing rings through enchantment scrolls, instead of charging scrolls. * Enchanting potions of fruit juice can change them into see invisible potions. * Enchanting non-magical musical instruments changes them into their magical counterparts. * A confused reading of the scroll allows you to attempt to erodeproof any item in your inventory. * You can choose to fireproof scrolls and spellbooks. Fireproofed scrolls and spellbooks cannot be burned by fire or blanked by water. The patch also has the following auxiliary effects: * Made it so that enchanting an item doesn't alter its b/u/c status. * Altered the feedback messages for Magicbane enchantment, as I believe that currently they are so obscure as to be unhelpful. * Altered the results of overenchanting items. Rather than evaporating, they can shatter, melt or catch fire (damaging you appropriately). * Fixed the "fireproofed candles" bug. | |

Some interesting ideas on the face, but I take it the player is prompted for an item now when he reads an enchantment scroll? That removes much of the bite from test-reading destroy armor.[Quote] |
