DescriptionCancellation will disarm a magical trap
 Zapping a wand of cancellation downwards while standing on a magical trap will disarm it. This applies to magic traps, teleporters, level telporters, polymorph traps and magics portals. Yes, magic portals. So be careful.

link dead but I still have it in my patches folder....
maybe you could also make a "paranoid" exception with magic portals... "really cancel that portal?" applies to blackmarket, quest, neutral/lawful/chaotic quests, and fort ludios, although vaults should be exempt because if you cancel a vault teleporter your an idiot because it is SO obvious what THAT teleporter is.[Quote]

Locking yourself out of the Quest is one thing, but getting yourself stuck in the elemental planes? I'd say those portals should disappear and reappear somewhere else if you do this. (You can say that those connections are part of the fabric of the universe and can't be destroyed by mortal magic, or something like that.)
