reposting link so it's above the instructions:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/oty696

and adding my modified rivers diff (slightly different than underground rivers patch here)
https://www.sendspace.com/file/kubvey

EXTRA piratey with more rivers![Quote]

so can't post a working pirate.diff but this should help people who want to handcode a working pirate class into nethack (remove the firearm stuff and do not add tech.c) and for slashem compilers they can just handcode the pirate stuff in for a working slashem pirate.

Notes: handcode refers to copy/paste nothing really difficult objname can just be replaced, and pirate.des pir*.lev can just be placed into the dat/and src folders although config has to have a reference to pirate (my config is full of lots of other stuff so I didn't add it, also I forgot until now) and makefile's have to have references (like the jedi patches makefile references) to pirate (also forgot to include until just now)

I hope this helps some people to gain a new class (or two if you decide to grab the bard code that was patched in from the original bard patch for nethack minus the musicshop musical stuff because I couldn't get it to work)[Quote]

everything works now, but I have added SO MUCH more content to my slashem that a diff would be useless to nethack users and slashem users would be lost also. I could however post a link with the u_init role objname and other changed "c's" so you could copy/paste them for a working pirate (except nethack wouldn't have firearms so you'd have to remove the pistol and bullets) and I could also post the pirate.des

I'll get sendspace going:

I would love to see your updated version with the pirate quest.[Quote]

I got it upgraded and better (for slashem)
once I figure out how to create patch/diff files I can post it here.
New quest with some touristy type levels but much much different. It took AGES to get this patch to work right with slashem and even now the sacrifice "gift" items do not work hardly ever, and I don't have any idea why. But the rest of it works perfectly. The quest is hard though not impossible. With hellfire and deluder (supposed to be sacrifice gifts) it goes pretty well.[Quote]

I'm kind of disappointed, since the Pirate quest just seems to be an unmodified Tourist quest. :([Quote]
