| This patch adds a new role to NetHack: the Convict. The Convict is an
escaped prisoner who seeks to redeem himself by seeking the Amulet in the Dungeons of Doom. They start out with a striped shirt, some rocks, and heavy iron ball chained to them. A trusty sewer rat accompanies the Convict into the dungeon: a companion from his days of imprisonment. Race: Human, Dwarf, Gnome, or Orc Alignment: Chaotic Deity: Tymora (Forgotten Realms) Spoiler information, if desired, can be found in the included README-convict.txt file. Can, as most of these can, be added to slashem if you look at the unchanged lines as a reference and change/add the lines in the right place. | |

| This patch (might) actually work now that WARDEN_ARIANNA actually is a VALID monster (changed locations in monst.c <different location in slashem than nethack>)
BUT there are NO replacing walls/doors/etc with iron bars at all in this patch! BTW the rat can be switch-places with (right phrase?) ONLY if you are no longer wearing the ball and chain[Quote] | ||

| why doesn't this patch work? I hand coded it into slashem taking into account the differences in code lines (etc) but the quest can NOT be entered. any guess as to why?[Quote] | ||

| This role is breathtakingly fun and difficult. Only for experts; intimate knowledge of weapons system and a huge dollop of good luck necessary. The attention to detail in the interactions and the like around the dungeons very well done, I like it. The rat is kind of annoying; never gets out of the way.
Highly recommend this patch. Once you've worked your way through all the other ascensions, this one is real icing on the cake.[Quote] | ||
