DescriptionA more balanced element resistance system
 DIVISION OF RESISTANCE:

* Half resistance is intrinsic resistance given by level gain or by eating stuff.
* Full resistance is everything else (including intrinsics given at level 1.)

DIVISION OF MAGIC AND SPELL RESISTANCE:

* Magic resistance now only protects against magic missiles and magical explosions.
* Spell resistance now only protects against enemy spells (and, ahem, death rays - but I might change this in the future).
* Spell resistance no longer stops force bolts and Death's random one-hit-kill.
* Gray dragon scale mail only provides magic resistance.
* The cloak of magic resistance is now the "cloak of spell resistance".
* There is a new amulet: "amulet versus spells".
* There is a new ring: "ring of magic resistance."
* Magicbane now provides both magic resistance and spell resistance - but only when wielded!
* The Orb of Detection, The Sceptre of Might, The Magic Mirror of Merlin, The Eyes of the Overworld, The Platinum Yendorian Express Card and The Eye of the Aethiopica now only provide magic resistance.

CHANGES TO ABILITY GAINS:

Because resistances given at level 1 are full, and resistances given above level 1 are half, the following changes have had to occur:
* Barbarians now gain half poison resistance at level 3.
* Monks now gain:
-half sleep resistance at level 3
-half poison resistance at level 5
-stealth at level 7
-warning at level 9
-searching at level 11
-half fire resistance at level 13
-half cold resistance at level 14
-half shock resistance at level 15
-teleport control at level 17
* Valkyries now gain half cold resistance at level 3.
* Wizards now gain half magic resistance at level 20.
* Elves now start at level 1 with full sleep resistance.
* Gray dragon corpses now confer half magic resistance when eaten.

NEW SPELLS:
* New spells providing temporary full resistances: "ward against fire" (level 3), "ward against cold" (level 3), "ward against shocks" (level 3), "ward against spells" (level 5), and "reflection" (level 5).
* These spells, as well as the "protection" spell, are now grouped under the "protection spells" skill. Priests and wizards can reach expert, healers and knights can reach skilled, and monks and samurai can reach basic.
* It is worth advancing to expert skill.
* Spellbooks of ward against spells can't be cursed by malignant auras.
* Spellbooks of ward against fire can't be burned.

BONUS FEATURES:
Element damage has been standardised:
* All fire damage will reduce your max HP by a small percentage of the damage recieved.
* All non-missile mana damage has a chance (reduced if you have magic resistance) that you will "absorb the magical energy" and gain energy.

ALSO:
* Half sleep resistance will halve the amount of time that you are asleep.
* Half disintegration resistance will cause disintegration attacks to only halve your HP.
* Half poison resistance is sufficient to protect you from deadly poison.
